Anvil is a panel that lives inside Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Cut the silences, switch cameras to whoever is talking, duck the music, reframe for social, sync a stop-start camera to one mic. Each job is a button, and each button does the whole job.
Free for 7 days, then $10 a month or $25 once. Windows and macOS, Premiere Pro 2020 or later, DaVinci Resolve 20.
Twenty jobs. One button each.
Press a tool on the panel to read what it does. Every result lands on the timeline as ordinary clips, markers and keyframes, so nothing is locked inside Anvil. Tools with settings, the AI chat and downloads open in a second window, the Anvil Panel, which remembers what it did to each clip.
Anvil
AI chat and Rough cut
Talk to the timeline. The model reads your sequence, runs any Anvil tool, writes and runs scripts, looks at frames and measures with ffmpeg, asking before every action unless you switch on Auto-approve. Bring your own key: Claude, GPT, Gemini, OpenRouter or a local model. Rough cut transcribes your footage on your own computer, lets the model cut filler, restarts, repeats, pauses and weak takes to your brief, and leaves a marker with the reason on every join.
How to usePress the AI button, add a key once, pick the content template and tone, type what you want or press Rough cut. Every change is an ordinary edit you can undo.
PremiereResolve
Silence cut
Finds every silence in the selected clips and cuts it out, closing the gap across the whole timeline. One dial runs from loose to tight. In Premiere each join gets a two-frame fade so nothing clicks.
How to useSelect the clips, press Silence cut, set how tight the cut should be, then Run. Works on the whole selection at once.
PremiereResolve
Podcast cut
Multi-camera switching with no multicam sequence. Each mic is measured against its own floor, so two lavs at different gains and voice bleed do not confuse it. Cameras are cut at every switch and the unchosen pieces disabled; re-enable a piece to overrule a decision.
How to useLay each camera on its own video track and each mic on the matching audio track (V1+A1, V2+A2, and so on), select them all, press Podcast cut.
PremiereResolve
Social clips
Every marker with a duration becomes a new sequence for each format you tick: 9x16, 4x5, 1x1 and 16x9. Stacked formats put V1 on top and V2 below, built on the framing you already set rather than resetting it.
How to useAdd a sequence marker with a duration over each moment you want. Press Social clips, tick the formats, Run. The sequences land in a Social Clips bin.
PremiereResolve
Sync clips
In Premiere, the selection is spread onto its own tracks and synchronized in one press. In Resolve, Anvil aligns the waveforms itself: the longest camera is the reference and the offsets are recovered to the frame.
How to useSelect the takes and the long mic recording, press Sync. Video and audio spread onto their own tracks first, then sync.
PremiereResolve
Trim sync
After a sync, trim everything to the common overlap and close the gap. Or, for a stop-start camera recorded against one long mic, cut the mic at every take, keep the slices under the takes and pack the takes into lanes.
How to useOnce synced, keep the same selection and press Trim sync. Ticking Stack takes puts a stop-start camera onto one continuous track.
PremiereResolve
Auto-duck
The music dips under speech. Pick the depth, from 3 to 30 dB, and tap which clip is the music; everything else selected counts as voice. Ramps are 0.4 seconds and short blips are ignored.
How to useSelect the voice clips and the music clip together, press Auto-duck, choose the amount, Run. The music is picked by its name, everything else counts as voice.
PremiereResolve
Beat markers
Detects the tempo of the selected music clip and drops beat and bar markers, on this clip only or on the media so every copy shows them. Running it again replaces the old markers.
How to useSelect the music clip, press Beat markers, choose whether to mark this copy or every copy, Run. Run it again to refresh the markers.
PremiereResolve
Pitch fix
Gives a speed-changed clip its natural voice back. Effect mode adds a Pitch Shifter instantly. Render mode time-stretches the source with formants preserved, with a Voice or Music character, and mutes the original.
How to useSelect the clips whose speed you changed, press Pitch fix, pick Voice or Music and Live or Render, Run.
PremiereResolve, render mode
Colour grade
A list of looks applied to the selection as Lumetri values in Premiere or a CDL node in Resolve, so you can keep grading on top. Match reference corrects every clip toward the earliest one; Auto grade pulls exposure and cast to neutral.
How to useSelect the clips, press Colour grade, pick a look, or choose Match reference with the earliest clip as the reference, then Run.
PremiereResolve
Slow zoom
Push in, pull out, alternate or random across the selected stills and clips, 5 to 40 percent, with an optional pan. Keyframed on a separate Transform so the framing you set stays untouched.
How to useSelect the clips, press Slow zoom, set the move and the easing, Run. Each clip gets its own Transform keyframes.
PremiereResolve
Black gaps
Marks every span where the timeline shows black, whether from an empty gap or a disabled clip, over the whole timeline or between In and Out. Each marker carries the duration and timecodes.
How to usePress Black gaps for the whole timeline, or set In and Out first to check only that range. Markers list the duration and timecode.
PremiereResolve
Copy and paste
Copies clips with their effects, keyframes, audio levels and transitions, and pastes them at the playhead onto tracks that are clear for the whole span, adding tracks when needed, so nothing is ever overwritten. Works between open projects; media is re-imported by path.
How to useSelect the clips and press Copy. Park the playhead where they should land, in this project or another one, and press Paste.
PremiereResolve
Grab image
Copy an image, or an image address, from anywhere. Press the button and it is saved, imported and placed at the playhead for five seconds on the first track that is clear.
How to useCopy an image or an image address from anywhere, park the playhead, press Grab image.
PremiereResolve
Adjustment layer
One click adds an adjustment layer sized to the sequence, with Transform already applied, on the first clear track above the selection. Premiere has no menu shortcut for this; Resolve already has one.
How to useSelect the clips the layer should cover and press Adjustment layer. It lands on the first clear track above them.
PremiereResolve
Unnest in place
Takes a nest apart on the timeline. Every inner clip keeps its effects and keyframes, and the nest's own scale, position, opacity and effects are carried onto each piece. Resolve's Decompose in Place already covers this.
How to useSelect the nest on the timeline and press Unnest. The inner clips take its place, effects intact.
PremiereResolve
Clips to markers
Lays one clip on every marker, each running exactly from its marker to the next. Take them from the Project panel, A to Z, or from the timeline selection in order. Longer clips are cut, shorter ones extended as far as their media allows, on a track that is clear for the whole run.
How to useSet markers (Beat markers works), select the clips in the Project panel or on the timeline, pick every marker, 2nd or 4th, press Place.
PremiereResolve
Cut at markers
Razors the selected clips at every marker inside them, video and audio together, at every marker or every 2nd or 4th. Nothing moves and nothing is deleted; the pieces stay in place ready to be swapped, dropped or graded on their own.
How to useSelect the clips, choose every marker, 2nd or 4th, press Cut. Each clip is split wherever a marker falls inside it.
PremiereResolve
Download video
Paste a link from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Vimeo or a thousand other sites. Video or audio only, any quality, whole playlists. The file lands in an Anvil Video Downloads folder beside your project and in a bin of the same name, ready to open in the Source monitor.
How to usePress Download video, paste the link, choose Video or Audio and a quality, press Download. Keeps working when sites change: the engine updates itself.
PremiereResolve
Two editors, one panel
The same tools and the same decision engines in both. Where an editor's scripting API cannot do something, the page says so instead of pretending.
Premiere Pro
CEP panel, installed as a signed ZXP. Premiere Pro 2020 or later.
Opens from Window > Extensions > Anvil and docks like any panel.
Works on the clips you select, the way the rest of Premiere does.
Silence cut adds a two-frame fade at every join.
Pitch fix has both an instant effect mode and a rendered mode.
Includes Adjustment layer and Unnest in place.
Install with ZXP Installer or Anastasiy's Extension Manager.
DaVinci Resolve
Lua script with a native panel, nothing else to install. Tested on Resolve 20.3.
Opens from Workspace > Scripts > Utility > Anvil.
Resolve scripts cannot read your selection, so tools work on the clip under the playhead on a chosen track, or every clip on it between In and Out.
Cuts split the original clips, so grades, effects and retimes survive.
Looks are written as a CDL on node 1; Slow zoom keyframes a Transform node in Fusion.
Auto-duck and Pitch fix render the audio rather than keyframing it.
Adjustment layer and Unnest are not included; Resolve has both built in.
Seven days free, then pick how you pay
Start with the full version for a week, no card. After that, subscribe and get every update as it ships, or buy the current version once. One code activates both editors.
Anvil is a signed ZXP. Open it with ZXP Installer or Anastasiy's Extension Manager, restart Premiere, then find it under Window > Extensions > Anvil. Dock it wherever you keep your panels.
How do I install it in DaVinci Resolve?
Run the installer that comes in the download. It places Anvil in Resolve's Scripts folder. Open it from Workspace > Scripts > Utility > Anvil. Nothing else needs installing.
Which versions does it run on?
Premiere Pro 2020 or later, and DaVinci Resolve 20.3. Both builds are Windows only at the moment.
Does it run offline?
Yes. Every tool runs on your machine. The audio analysis and rendering use a copy of ffmpeg that ships inside the package, so no footage leaves your computer.
Will it touch my existing effects and grades?
No. Tools add to what is there. Silence cut and Podcast cut split the original clips so grades, effects and retimes survive. Slow zoom keyframes a separate Transform, so the framing you set stays. Colour grade writes Lumetri values in Premiere and a CDL node in Resolve, so you keep grading on top.
Can I undo what a tool did?
Yes. Results are ordinary edits: cuts, markers, keyframes, disabled clips and new sequences. Podcast cut, for instance, only disables the camera pieces it did not choose, so re-enabling one overrules it. Anvil never exports or overwrites your media.
Where do rendered files go?
Auto-duck and Pitch fix in render mode write a new audio file into an "Anvil Renders" folder beside your source media, import it into an "Anvil Renders" bin, and place it on a clear track with the original disabled. Delete the folder and re-enable the original to go back.
Why does the Resolve version work differently for some tools?
Resolve's scripting API has no timeline selection, no razor, no keyframes and no volume control. Tools work on the clip under the playhead on a chosen track, or every clip on it between In and Out, and split clips with an insert edit. Adjustment layer and Unnest are not included because Resolve already has both built in.
How does the free trial work?
Enter your email on the activation page and a trial code arrives. Paste it into the panel and every tool works for seven days, no card. One trial per email and per machine. When it ends nothing on your timeline changes; the tools just ask for a paid code.
Subscription or one-time, which should I pick?
The subscription is $10 a month and includes every update and new tool as it ships. Pay for 6 months and it is $54, 10% off; pay for a year and it is $96, 20% off. The one-time purchase is $25 for the current full version with no renewal and no future updates. Both cover Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve on two machines with one code.
How does activation work?
Every purchase and trial gives you a code like ANVL-7K2Q-M9XT-4RBD-PZ3N by email. In the panel click the status line at the bottom, paste it, press Activate. The panel checks the code once online and then works offline; the panel can also start the trial itself from its licence card. A code covers two machines; deactivate one from the same card to move to a new computer. Lost the code? The activation page resends it to the email you bought with.
How do I update?
Install the new build over the old one, the same way you installed it. Your settings live in the panel, not in the package, so they carry over.
How do I remove it?
Premiere: uninstall it from the same ZXP installer you used, or delete the Anvil folder from Premiere's extensions folder. Resolve: delete the Anvil folder from the Scripts folder. Your projects are untouched either way.
Does Social clips export the videos?
It builds one sequence per marker per format in a "Social Clips" bin, cut and reframed. You export them the way you export anything else, so you keep control of the encode settings.
